Redemption Responds: Coronavirus

Corna Virus.jpg

The media outlets are working overtime, the stock market is at an all time low, gas prices are lower than they have been in years, and the rumor is toilet paper and hand sanitizer are getting harder to find.

Why? All because of the Coronavirus.

I want to give you permission not to freak out about the Coronavirus!

In fact, I want to share two ideas from scripture with you today.

FEAR NOT!

One of the most repeated commandments in scripture is “Do Not Be Afraid”. I think God repeated Himself so much was because He knew there were all kinds of things we could be afraid of! The reality is, God is GREATER than the Coronavirus!

God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7).

Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? (Jesus in Luke 12:25-26)

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. (Jesus in John 14:27)

I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.  (Jesus in John 16:33)

BE WISE!

As Christ Followers we are called to walk in wisdom.

  • Wash your hands! Health professionals are saying hand washing is still the best way to prevent sickness. We have hand sanitizer available on Sunday mornings, feel free to use it.

  • We see church as family and tend to get excited to see one another. During this season, be sensitive to those around you when it comes to hugs and handshakes. You may not be feeling particularly vulnerable but consider the health of others around you.

  • If you or someone in your family has not been feeling well or if you are or have been experiencing a fever, cough, yellow/green snot, or flu like symptoms, stay home and get better. We will miss you, but it is better to take a Sunday off than possibly get others sick. This is just common sense and a loving way to serve the people around you no matter what season it is.

  • If you are a volunteer and supposed to serve on Sunday, call your Ministry Leader and let them know you need help finding a replacement.

  • If you are not feeling well, see your doctor and follow their instructions.

  • Oh yeah, fill up your gas tank! Gas is cheap.

As Christ-followers let’s be BOLD & WISE! Jesus still has the whole world in His hands.

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday at 11:30AM!
