What to Expect.

  • WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

    We are located at 420 W Boone Street in Belvidere, Illinois. If the parking lot is full, there is additional parking alone both sides of W Boone Street.

  • HOW DO I GET CONNECTED?

    At Redemption we put a high priority on relationships. The easiest way to get connected is to visit on a Sunday, fill out a Connect Card, and attend a Welcome To Redemption Lunch.

  • What Should I Wear?

    Wear whatever you are most comfortable with. Every Sunday people wear everything from a suit to their favorite sports team apparel. We are much more concerned about what's going on inside of a person than the outside. Our pastor usually wears jeans.

  • What Are Sundays Like?

    Sunday Gatherings last about 1 hour and 30 minutes. They are filled with engaging worship , communion, prayer, and practical teaching straight from the Bible meant to apply to your daily life. We also have a great Kid’s Ministry for children ages 0-5th grade that is Safe, Fun, and all about Jesus.

  • Is There Something For Kid's?

    Our Kid’s Ministry is fun, safe, and all about Jesus. On Sunday’s you will find a great team of volunteers (who have been background checked) ready to greet your kids, and help them grow in their walk with Jesus.

  • Is There A Nursery?

    Yes! Each Sunday we have a team of incredible volunteers (who are fully background checked) who are committed to providing children ages Birth - 4 years old with one of the best hours of their week.

  • Is There A Youth Ministry?

    On Sundays we invite all 6-12th grade students to participate in worship with their families. We have a Youth Ministry that meets during the week to play some games, have some fun, and study the Bible together. Learn more HERE.

  • Can I Watch Online?

    Yes, we livestream on both Facebook and Youtube each week. We think it is always better live and in the room, but we get it sometimes life happens and you cannot physically be here. You can also catch all our previous messages online.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

  • We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct (Isaiah 8:20; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Matthew 5:18; John 17:17, 20:31; Romans 15:4; 2 Peter 1:19-21).

  • We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons, that these are equal in every divine perfection, and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence, and redemption (Genesis 1:26; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1-14, 18, 17:1-5; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:1; 1 John 5:7).

  • We believe in God, the Father, an infinite personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of each person, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ (Matthew 23:9; Luke 10:20-21; John 6:27; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 1 Timothy 1-2, 2:5-6; 1 Peter 1:3).

  • We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal visible return to earth (Mathew 1:20-21; Romans 8:34; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Revelation 5:9).

  • We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and the Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ, and that He is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide (John 16:5-15; John 20:21-22; Romans 8:1-17).

  • We believe that all people are sinners by nature and by choice and are, therefore, under condemnation. We believe that those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit (John 1:12-13; Ephesians 2:1-10; Genesis 3; Isaiah 59:2; Romans 5:12).

  • We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local church, consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible confession of faith, and associated for worship, work, and fellowship. We believe that God has laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of giving the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world (Matthew 28:19-20; Ephesians 1:22-23, 2:22, 4:15-16; Colossians 1:18).

  • We believe that Christians should live for the glory of God and the well-being of others, that their conduct should be blameless before the world, that they should be faithful stewards of their possessions, and that they should seek to realize for themselves and others the full stature of maturity in Christ (1 Corinthians 3:16-17, 8:9-13; 2 Corinthians 9:6-13; Galatians 5:19-26; Ephesians 4:1-3, 5:3-5, James 3:5-8).

  • We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church: baptism and the Lord's Supper. We believe that Christian baptism is immersion of a believer in water into the name of the triune God. We believe that the Lord's Supper was instituted by Christ for commemoration of His death. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 26:26-29, 28:18-20; Mark 14:22-25, Acts 2:38-42, 8:36-39; Romans 6:1-11, 1 Corinthians 10:16-17, 11:23-26).

  • We believe that every human being has direct relations with God, and is responsible to God alone in all matters of faith; that each church is independent and must be free from interference by any ecclesiastical or political authority; that therefore Church and State must be kept separate as having different functions, each fulfilling its duties free from dictation or patronage of the other (Acts 5:29, 20:28-32; Romans 14:7-9, 11-12; 1 Corinthians 3:16; Colossians 1:18; 1 Timothy 2:5).

  • We believe that the local church can best promote the cause of Jesus Christ by cooperating with one another in a denominational organization. Such an organization, whether a regional or district conference, exists and functions by the will of the churches. Cooperation in a conference is voluntary and may be terminated at any time. Churches may likewise cooperate with interdenominational fellowships on a voluntary basis (1 Corinthians 8:9-13, 16:13-16; Galatians 5:22-26; Ephesians 4:1-3; James 3:5-8).

  • We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal felicity of the righteous, and the endless suffering of the wicked (Matthew 25:31-46; John 3:16-21; Acts 9:1-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:14, 16; Hebrews 10:28-31; Revelation 20:14-15, 22:7).
